Greetings everyone.
As you can surmise, the current Covid-19 Coronavirus crisis has had a significant effect upon the Anomaly Archives, much as it has impacted so many aspects of society. Things have been moving so fast it has been difficult to keep up and keep all of our supporters updated. The Anomaly Archives has been closed to the public since the Mayor’s March 17th announcement limiting gatherings and urging everyone to follow CDC guidelines for the safety of everyone and to “flatten the curve.”
As is happening across our society right now, beyond the dangers posed to our health, the ripple effects of this crisis are impacting our livelihoods at the personal, business, and community levels. The economic impacts to all levels are devastating; but Humanity can prevail if we all pull together, do what’s right and needs to be done, and help each other through these trying times.
Unfortunately, the Anomaly Archives has been immediately financially impacted by this crisis and so we too are among those institutions needing to ask for help. In the coming days, weeks, and months, the Anomaly Archives will be launching renewed fundraising campaigns to try and help us weather this storm and build for a sustainable future. We realize that many of you are likely personally in a similar situation of need and so we of course only ask for help from those who have it to safely give.
We’ll have more news soon on how you can help. For now, remember you can help us by directly donating to us through PayPal and/or through selecting us as your charity of choice on Amazon.com and make your qualifying purchases through their Smile program portal – it costs you nothing and they donate to us.

The Anomaly Archives is a Proud Sponsor of the Austin Archives Bazaar and hopes local Austin artists will take advantage of the Bazaar’s new ARCHIVES-IN-ART CONTEST!
Artists are encouraged to visit a local archival repository in person OR online and select an archival collection or item to interpret as a 2D visual creative work. The artist’s work can pay homage to historical events or figures, fuel discussion, or examine current events through a historical lens. Topics to consider include (but are not limited to): climate change, cultural celebrations, faith, family history, gentrification, human rights, identity, immigration, and incarceration.
Our first new monthly meetup (“Bring ‘em Back Amused. The Tale of Frank Buck and his Monkey Mountain”) was a fun-filled success! Thank you to all of our attendees.

The Austin Archives Bazaar is excited to announce its inaugural exhibition: Archives in Art, a juried art show that encourages Central Texas artists to use or be inspired by archival materials in creating their work. There are no submission fees, and accepted works will be exhibited at the Austin Archives Bazaar on April 19, 2020 and afterwards at Austin Central Library’s 4th Floor from April 27 – June 30. Central Library will be a stop on the WEST Austin Studio Tour in May! There will be cash awards for the jury’s choice and people’s choice winners.
This week’s book of the week is one of many by author and researcher Eugenia Macer-Story that we have on-file in the Anomaly Archives. I never had the chance to meet her (she was one of the speakers scheduled to present at my 2001 National UFO Conference) but was glad to know her through her writings and email communications and the one audio interview I did with her in 2008 for my Blue Rose Report webcast. She passed away in December of 2013.

There beats in the hearts of many the yearning for adventure, and so, in 1911, to satisfy that need “Adventure!” magazine was created. It was filled with thrilling tales of travel, intrigue, and exotic occurrences.
One of these adventurers was once a household word and an American celebrity whose very name was a byword for all things exotic and thrilling. This was Frank Buck of Gainesville, Texas, an animal collector who cared so deeply about the animals he rounded up for zoos that his motto was, “Bring ‘em back alive.” His passion for animals led him to fame and fortune, movies and mayhem. The things he managed to do and experience in his lifetime will both astonish and amuse.

Greenewald utilized the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to gain access to more than two million pages of documents. This archive includes information relating to UFOs, the JFK Assassination, chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, and top secret aircraft. He took the millions of pages, and over the course of more than two decades, has built an archive known around the world, as The Black Vault.

Do you have a piece of the puzzle?
The Anomaly Archives will soon be announcing the dates and times for a new recurring monthly Meetup series. We are very excited by this upcoming resumption of regular meetings for like-minded Anomalists, Forteans, and Seekers. These new meetings will likely occur the same Saturday each month from 3-5pm … Stay Tuned for Details as to Which Saturday of the Month!
Book-of-the-Week
In the past century, individuals, newspapers, and military agencies have recorded thousands of UFO incidents, giving rise to much speculation about flying saucers, visitors from other planets, and alien abductions. Yet the extraterrestrial phenomenon did not begin in the present era. Far from it. The authors of Wonders in the Sky reveal a thread of vividly rendered-and sometimes strikingly similar- reports of mysterious aerial phenomena from antiquity through the modern age. These accounts often share definite physical features- such as the heat felt and described by witnesses-that have not changed much over the centuries. Indeed, such similarities between ancient and modern sightings are the rule rather than the exception.
