The Anomaly Archives Email Newsletter

January 27th, 2024 – Austin, Texas

Howdy UFOlks and Anomalists everywhere! Happy New Year! It has been far too long since our last eNewsletter back in September 2023.

We started doing the Anomaly Archives eNews back in January of 2005 and then creating the MailChimp versions starting in January 2016. So we’ve been fulfilling part of our nonprofit’s Public Education mission through these efforts for about 20 years (we formed the 501c3 nonprofit back in 2003).

The Anomaly Archives will continue putting out similar eNewsletters but there will be changes going forward into 2024. Stay tuned for updates!

In the meantime, check out our recent post at the website with all of my favorite links from 2023 as I take a two-part look back in the official…

The Anomaly Archives Email Newsletter

June 25, 2023 – Austin, Texas

Welcome to the June 2023 edition of the Anomaly Archives eNews. Happy World UFO Day / Week!

Wow! I didn’t expect a new wave of whistleblowing claims for my 52nd birthday month. Not only did I get an intense media campaign featuring someone I was completely unfamiliar with (Dave Grusch making the usual claims of crashed saucers, pickled aliens and government cover-ups) but also the 22nd year anniversary of Steve Greer‘s famous 2001 UFO Disclosure  Project press conference at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. for over three hours on my birthday. You can watch our coverage of this news in the June 7th and June 14th episodes of Anomaly-NOW

If you’ve missed any episodes of Anomaly-NOW!”, our live, weekly, news roundup show, Wednesdays @ 7pm Central Standard Time, there are various ways for you to catch it. It is usually streamed live via our YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitch channel, and Twitter page.

Video-Of-The-Week

Ingo Swann: A Life Gone Wild
New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove

“Ingo Swann (1933-2013) led what can only be called a life filled with a constellation of connections.

In 2009, Ingo invited filmmakers into his home to begin what was going to be a documentary on his contributions to remote viewing, but what happened instead was it turned into a wild ride into with myriad of facets of Ingo’s life. Footage shot during this time, from 2009-2011, captured Ingo at his eccentric best, and was coupled with interviews of 20+ people who had been in Ingo’s orbit at some point during his life’s adventures.

After Ingo passed away, Swann-Ryder Productions, LLC, began expanding the dimensions of the film, and between 2015-2017, 30+ additional interviews were undertaken, covering everything from Ingo’s early days, to his encounters with UFOs and ETs, to his sojourn into the powers of the human mind. In total, the footage shows that Ingo’s life is truly as Ingo said, “… a life gone wild.”

A short trailer was created offering a hint of what a full-length documentary film could be. This short film, the video herein, won Best Bio Pic at the 2017 Philip K. Dick Film Festival in New York City. We are releasing this short film on the New Thinking Allowed channel with permission. We hope you enjoy this small peek into the life of Ingo Swann.”

Memoirs of a Monster Hunter

A Five-Year Journey in Search of the Unknown

by Nick Redfern

“For centuries, people across the world have had a fascination with monsters and strange creatures. They marvel at the tales and legends of the Bigfoot of the Pacific Northwest; of the Abominable Snowman of the Himalayas; of the infamous and diabolical Moth-Man of West Virginia; of fire-breathing dragons; and of those dark denizens of the deep: lake monsters and sea serpents. But do such creatures really exist? Can it be true that our planet is home to fantastic beasts that lurk deep within its forests and waters? Memoirs of a Monster Hunter proves the answer is a resounding yes!

In this follow-up to his wildly successful Three Men Chasing Monsters, paranormal investigator and author Nick Redfern chronicles his surreal road-trip through the United States and beyond in search of all-things monstrous. His strange adventures lasted five years and saw him doggedly pursuing a menagerie of creatures, including gargoyles, giant birds, and what some believe are living dinosaurs.”

Photo above: Jim Bunnell, Renee Lewis (behind), Rob Riggs, Miles Lewis (behind), Paul Devereux, and others from the trip to the Big Thicket.

Excerpts below detail the Ghost Lights Mini-Conference put on by the Anomaly Archives with the help and sponsorship of Rob Riggs. Anomaly Archives founder SMiles Lewis MC’d the event which featured Nick Redfern, England’s earth lights researcher Paul Devereux, and Marfa, Texas mystery lights researcher Jim Bunnell.

Comentarios Reales De Los Incas

Tomo I, II, III – Coleccion Autores Peruanos

by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega

“The Real Commentaries of the Incas or First part of the real commentaries is a historical-literary book written by the Peruvian writer Inca Garcilaso de la Vega . It was published in Lisbon in 1609 . It deals with the history, customs and traditions of Ancient Peru , although focusing on the Inca period . It is the first great work of Peruvian literature and one of the most important of the colonial period. Some consider it as the epic song of the Peruvian nationality. In the historiographical field he had a lot of influence between Peruvian and American historians, until the middle of the 19th century, when its historical value began to be questioned.”

Morphing Flying Saucer UFO Hovers Over Neighbour’s House – 1998 – Las Vegas – CG Reconstruction

“Mike & Jon have joined Wes to relax in his parents Las Vegas garden one warm sunny evening in August of 1998. The birds are settling down for the night and everything seems normal. While Mike talks computer games and movies something over Weston’s right shoulder catches his eye. Something in the distance. Is that a bunch of balloons? This is a CG reconstruction of a real UFO sighting that happened to Mike, Wes & Jon in Las Vegas back in 1998.”

Forbidden Science 5

The Journals of Jacques Vallee 2000-2009

by Jacques Vallee

A Reframing of Unidentified Phenomena

This volume, the fifth in a series, continues Jacques Vallee’s insider view into UFO research and the government’s often reluctant efforts to to deal with the issue. Set in the midst of global financial and political upheaval, as well as heartbreaking person losses, Vallee explains how during this decade UFOs could be studied in novel ways and how the government came to seriously revisit the issue in the face of possible threats to national security. Of great interest is how Vallee was drawn into the Defense Intelligence Agency’s secret UFO program known as the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP); for the first time we gain insight into how it developed, as well as its problems and promise. Here, in ten years of carefully curated journal entries, partly drawn from classified research, Vallée shows how a few teams of scientists and physicians have brought about a remarkable reframing of unidentified phenomena.

It is with a heavy heart and extremely twisted feelings that I relay news of the passing of Robbie Graham. I became aware of his work over ten years ago and was honored to be a contributor to the anthology he edited, UFOs: Reframing the Debate. He had since founded August Night Press and was publishing a variety of important works.

UFO tv-show “Sweet Cigarettes”

“Since the 1930s, Sweet Cigarettes had been popular with children.

White sticks of candy with a splodge of red at one end, they came in a rough facsimile of a fag packet and even had collectable cigarette-style cards in them.

But attitudes to smoking were changing, and by the end of the 1970s, sweet cigarettes became ‘candy sticks’ and the red tip disappeared.”

FLASHBACK

The Life & Works of Eugenia Macer-Story

Exploring the Life-Work of Artist / Clairvoyant / Paranormal-Investigator Eugenia Macer-Story with SMiles Lewis, Stephanie Quick, Professor WHAM & Ben Roylance

From Jacques Vallee’s Forbidden Science Journal – Volume 3 on page 61 for the March 2, 1981 entry he mentions meeting Eugenia Macer-Story:

“This morning I met Eugenia Macer-Story, a perceptive analyst of the paranormal with whom I have corresponded. She was waiting for me on 18th Street in front of a theater; a serious figure dressed in jeans, graying hair, a plastic jacket, fragile and smart like all Greenwich Village. We spent an hour at a nearby coffee shop discussing her experiences and my own work. She believes there is a criminal psychic network that employs gifted subjects, and may be involved in cattle mutilations. Eugenia made a strong impression on me. Once she took off her plastic smock, her New York slick armor, she was a good friend, a colleague in a puzzling field where we both have more intuitions and speculations than hard facts.”

Video-Of-The-Week

An international team of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) investigators explores the Colombian Andes seeking solutions for the “Dancing Lights” of La Peña de Juaica.

Similar anomalous lights to those recorded in Norway’s Hessdalen Valley are witnessed between the Colombian villages of Tenjo and Tabio, about 45 kilometres (28 miles) north of Bogotá. Indigenous Muiscas knew the spectacular hill La Peña de Juaica as “The Door of the Gods” and local traditions maintain that it was baptized in 1608 AD as “The Hill of Dancing Lights” after colonists reported fast-moving multi-coloured lights in the air around its summit.

While the dancing lights of Colombia are similar to the Hessdalen Valley light phenomena, they are much older. Over the last 400 years the phenomenon has been called: El Encanto (The Charm), Mohan and Mohana (Indigenous spirits), Quicuyo (Black Worm) and Balón de Oro (Golden Ball). However, over the last sixty years the lights have most often been reported as ‘OVNIs’ (UFOs).

Season 1 Features:

  • Ashley Cowie – History Fuzz
  • Vinnie Adams – Disclosure Team
  • Dan Zetterstrom – That UFO Podcast
  • Walter Payne – Space Analyst – U.A.V. Pilot
  • Lydia Romer – Attorney and Judge
  • Jeshuran Rajasingham – Analyst
  • Natalia Reyes Escobar – Producer

The Superhumanities

Historical Precedents, Moral Objections, New Realities

by Jeffrey J. Kripal

A bold challenge to rethink the humanities as intimately connected to the superhuman and to “decolonize reality itself.”

What would happen if we reimagined the humanities as the superhumanities? If we acknowledged and celebrated the undercurrent of the fantastic within our humanistic disciplines, entirely new cultural worlds and meanings would become possible. That is Jeffrey J. Kripal’s vision for the future—to revive the suppressed dimension of the superhumanities, which consists of rare but real altered states of knowledge that have driven the creative processes of many of our most revered authors, artists, and activists. In Kripal’s telling, the history of the humanities is filled with precognitive dreams, evolving superhumans, and doubled selves. The basic idea of the superhuman, for Kripal, is at the core of who and what the human species has tried to become over millennia and around the planet.

After diagnosing the basic malaise of the humanities—that the truth must be depressing—Kripal shows how it can all be done differently. He argues that we have to decolonize reality itself if we are going to take human diversity seriously. Toward this pluralist end, he engages psychoanalytic, Black critical, feminist, postcolonial, queer, and ecocritical theory. He works through objections to the superhumanities while also recognizing the new realities represented by the contemporary sciences. In doing so, he tries to move beyond naysaying practices of critique toward a future that can embrace those critiques within a more holistic view—a view that recognizes the human being as both a social-political animal as well as an evolved cosmic species that understands and experiences itself as something super.”

So long Amazon-Smile program… hello Patreon!

As many of you have likely heard, Amazon is ending its “Smile” charity donation program. This is an extreme disappoint and many are expressing their dismay at the company’s decision and the way they have announced this significant change. See commentary at WPTVnews, Nicole Schuman at PRnewsOnline, Seth’s Blog, and older critiques of the Amazon Smile program and the company in general at HeyDavid (circa 2019), John Kenyon (circa 2017?), and ArsTechnica (circa 2015). The “donation” program has always been problematic but it was a funding source we were slowly cultivating and growing – but no more. Thanks to all of you who participated over the past several years by choosing us as your charity of choice; you have until the end of February to continue supporting us through this soon to be ending charitable funding source.

Meanwhile… the Anomaly Archives will soon be launching a new membership community fundraising portal using the Patreon platform along with an educational initiative that has been a part of the long-term mission and vision for the Anomaly Archives / Scientific Anomaly Institute.

More details coming soon.
