About anomaly

SMiles Lewis has had a lifelong interest in all things anomalous. An early age proclivity at recalling his nightly dreams as well as several personal experiences with ESP, precognition and dream switching bolstered his interest in the paranormal. Shortly after high-school he joined the local MUFON chapter in Austin, Texas. He would later become a MUFON State Section Director for that group as well as leader of the local UFO Experiencer Support and Study Group. A lover of books, SMiles collected over 1000 titles before founding the non-profit Anomaly Archives that serves as the lending library of the Scientific Anomaly Institute (501c3). For over twenty years he has worked with digital audio, video and other bleeding edge internet technologies. He has published his own print journal (E.L.F. Infested Spaces), edited a local paranormal newspaper (Austin Para Times), maintained a large network of websites (ELFIS.net), organized a national UFO conference (NUFOC-38), spoken to anthropologists about UFOs and parapsychology (Encounters with the Fantastic), hosted (and been a guest on) both terrestrial and webradio talk shows and has been podcasting since before the phrase existed. All these efforts and more have led radio talk show host Robert Larson to describe Miles as a “Gonzo Alt-Media Proprietor and Informationalist.” He is also the LOWFI-Texas State Bureau Chief of The League of Western Fortean Intermediatists. SMiles’ current projects include co-hosting PsiOp-Radio with Mack White as part of the many unique shows airing daily on his ANOMALY RADIO Network. He is active with several local non-profits which includes his service on the board of directors for the Institute for Neuroscience And Consciousness Studies (INACS) and the Scientific Anomaly Institute‘s lending library, the Anomaly Archives. His writings can be found within the Archives of his print journal ELFIS and ANOMALY Magazine. In his day job with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission‘s Talking Book Program he manages a Volunteer Recording Studio and audio duplication department and has been a consultant on two digital audio development documents for the Library of Congress‘ National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled.

Anomaly Archives Needs A New Home

WE NEED A NEW HOME!

The Anomaly Archives Is Now Temporarily In-Storage

During the weekslong Streamathon Emergency Fundraiserour landlord informed us that they were not extending an invitation to renew our lease at our (then) current location. We had hoped to be able to stay at the current location for as long as possible, or at least another year. However, the landlord, itself a nonprofit, has also been hit hard by the pandemic and is having to make its own tough decisions and that has included not renewing leases when its tenants’ current lease terms expire; this includes another nonprofit that has been there for 20 years.

Three years ago, our current location was recommended to us by one of our email newsletter subscribers. We hope that perhaps one of you reading this now might have another good location opportunity you are aware of and that you will share it with us. We’d prefer something with its own entrance, with good parking, centrally located (but preferably in South or East Austin or south of Koenig Lane aka 2222), 800-1200 square feet for no more than about $800-$1,200 per month total. Even better are locations with utilities included in that pricing. If you have leads on good inexpensive location options for lease, please reach out to us via email at Contact@AnomalyArchives.org or leave the information in a voicemail at (512) 842-9046.

THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who supported us during the Streamathon Emergency Fundraiser. We raised over $11,111 towards our goal. We couldn’t have done it without the help of our volunteers, presenters, filmmakers, and supportive fans / donors. THANK YOU for giving us a chance to survive into 2021 and hopefully beyond.

The Anomaly Archives presents
Exploring the Life-Work of Artist/Clairvoyant/Paranormal-Investigator
Eugenia Macer-Story

Featuring Dr. CS Matthews, Stephanie Quick, Ben Roylance and SMiles Lewis
Saturday, August 8th at 2pm CST

Watch Live on… Our YouTube.com Channel
… or …  Our Facebook Page

The Anomaly Archives is hosting a panel discussion on the life and work of this truly unique visual artist, playwright/poet, UFO experiencer / researcher and clairvoyant psychic who used the tapestry of her life as an experimental space in which to deepen her understanding of the process of contact with the uncanny. An accomplished artist and writer, her papers on the physics of synchronicity and other paranormal events were presented at academic conferences while she also had many articles published by UFO research organizations.

Her book “Congratulations! The UFO Reality”, written in the mid-1970’s, concentrated on the effects of these encounters on witnesses, an aspect of these events which in recent times is gaining more attention.

With panelists Dr. C.S. Matthews, author of “Mysterious Beauty: Living with the Paranormal in the Hudson Valley”; Ben Roylance, poet and EMS researcher, Stephanie Quick of the blog “Ghost Dog is a Mystery Box” and host SMiles Lewis, founder of Anomaly Archives.

We are very excited to be hosting this Online / Virtual Meetup webcast event and hope you all can join us for this month’s “Second Saturday,” Monthly Meetup, tomorrow, August 8th, at 2pm CDT. We’ll be streaming live to our YouTube Channel HERE as well as simulcasting it over at our Facebook Page HERE.  We hope you will join us for the live transmission – it will also be archived for later viewing if you can’t make it to the livestream.
