The Anomaly Archives is TinyCat’s “Library of the Month”!

We are proud to report that TinyCat / LibraryThing have chose the Anomaly Archives as its “Library-of-the-Month” for December 2020! We first started using LibraryThing back in 2009 or so and were very happy to discover that they had expanded their features to include TinyCat: the easy to use OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) for small libraries such as ours! While our current online catalog needs updating (we’ve added a couple thousand more books since the last update) you can search our OPACS at these links here: TinyCat / LibraryThing.

WE NEED A NEW HOME!
Recently our landlord informed us that they are not extending an invitation to renew our lease at our current location. We had hoped to be able to stay at the current location for as long as possible, or at least another year. However, the landlord, itself a nonprofit, has also been hit hard by the pandemic and is having to make its own tough decisions and that has included not renewing leases when its tenants’ current lease terms expire; this includes another nonprofit that has been there for 20 years.
Three years ago, our current location was recommended to us by one of our email newsletter subscribers. We hope that perhaps one of you reading this now might have another good location opportunity you are aware of and that you will share it with us. We’d prefer something with its own entrance, with good parking, centrally located (but preferably in South or East Austin / south of Koenig Lane aka 2222), 800-1200 square feet for no more than about $1,200 per month total. Even better are locations with utilities included in that pricing. If you have leads on good inexpensive location options for lease, please reach out to us via email at Contact@AnomalyArchives.org or leave the information in a voicemail at (512) 842-9046.

We’ll be streaming many hours of great content covering these and other fields of inquiry. We’ll be sharing a sort of “Fabulous Fortean Film Festival” evening, Plus Music and MORE! “Agnostic gnostic, walking conundrum & metaphysical oxymoron (with emphasis in the ‘moron’ part), the mysterious RPJ leaves a double life: By day he serves as Grand Master of the International Sacred Order of Lucha Libre, but at night he pursues his life-long study of everything considered mysterious and/or ‘paranormal’ –a term he personally detests… When he’s not exploring the web looking for his daily fix of Forteana, he can be found blogging, doodling, fooling around and offering his services as news administrator and writer at The Daily Grail. He also regularly participates in other websites and podcasts like Radio Misterioso and Where Did the Road Go? He impatiently awaits for the return of the mothership in Mexico City.”
“Brent has been the Editor of Alternate Perceptions Magazine since he began publishing earlier renditions of it in the 1970s. “When I was a child I was always interested in strange and unusual subjects. I was extremely interested in dinosaurs as I’m sure most kids are. When I was 9 years old the story of the Lake Worth Monster hit the front page of the Ft. Worth Star Telegram. My grandparents had a cabin cruiser boat on Eagle Mountain Lake which was separated by a dam from Lake Worth. I had spent many a night on that boat anchored out in the middle of Eagle Mountain Lake. As you can guess, the many scenarios involving the creature ran through my head. The story died down in November of 1969. The next year I obtained a copy of John A. Keel’s book Strange Creatures from Time & Space. It was very influential to me. Of course, like most people interested in Bigfoot, I saw the movie The Legend of Boggy Creek. I saw it in the theater and it made me think about the possibility that Bigfoot was closer to me than I had previously thought. … We formed the Texas Bigfoot Research Center in June of 1999. The rest as they say is history. In January, 2007, the TBRC reorganized as a 501(c)(3), non-profit, scientific research organization. The organization’s name was the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy. In March 2013, the organization has adopted the name North American Wood Ape Conservancy (NAWAC). I resigned from the organization on July 10, 2010 to focus my attention on other endeavors, such as Cryptomundo. As of December 24, 2013, I have resurrected the original TBRC, the Texas Bigfoot Research Center.
A radical hybrid of spy, sci-fi, Western, and even horror genres, Craig Baldwin‘s Mock Up On Mu cobbles together a feature-length “collage-narrative” based on (mostly) true stories of California’s post-War sub-cultures of rocket pioneers, alternative religions, and Beat lifestyles.

“Investigator of historical occult mysteries, author of pulp fiction novels and a screenwriter who has appeared on History Channel’s ‘Ancient Aliens’.
“Ed Conroy is the author of “Report on ‘Communion,’” (Morrow, 1989; Avon, 1990; published as “Informe Comunión” by Reediciones Anómalas, 2020), the result of his investigation into the life and work of Whitley Strieber, author of “Communion: A True Story” (Morrow, 1987) his account of experiences with non-human beings he called his “visitors.” He has reported on UFO investigations and the crop circle phenomenon for “Más Allá de la Ciencia” of Barcelona, Spain. Educated at California Institute of the Art’s School of Critical Studies, the Universidad Nacional Autonóma de México and the University of Texas at San Antonio, he was in those years a student at the San Francisco Zen Center and member of an esoteric studies community centered around The Philosopher’s Stone Bookstore, where he became familiar with the literature of anthroposophy and both classical and humanistic astrology. He was also a student of the later Albert Riedel (Frater Albertus) at the Paracelsus College in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ed is a former arts reporter and columnist for the San Antonio Express-News. For the past 30 years he has been a student of the Western Hermetic Tradition in the Builders of the Adytum. Since 1998, he has served as Director of Development for Southwest School of Art in his native San Antonio, Texas.”
“A lifelong Wisconsin resident, I was born in Green Bay, the state’s first city. My family is from Southwestern Wisconsin, and the folklore of that region was a strong influence on my upbringing. I was brought up with a deep regard for the history and mythology, not only of Wisconsin, but the world over.

In addition to co-hosting the History Channel TV series Missing in Alaska, Ken has appeared in three episodes of the television series Monster Quest and is featured in the History Channel special The Real Wolfman, as well as other series including Ancient Aliens (History Channel), True Monsters (History Channel), Unexplained Files (Science Channel), Legend Hunters(Travel Channel), Paranatural (National Geographic), Weird or What? with William Shatner (Syfy),Monsters and Mysteries in America (Animal Planet), True Supernatural (Destination America),Ultimate Encounters (TruTV), Monster Project (Nat Geo Wild) and Shipping Wars (A&E). Ken is an author and has contributed to trade publications including Fate Magazine. He currently lectures and exhibits at various conferences and events across the United States. Born on Friday the 13th of October, 1967 (exactly one week before the famous Patterson Bigfoot footage was shot), Ken has traveled to twenty-six different countries on six continents and has visited virtually all of the United States. An avid adventurer, he has camped along the Amazon, explored the Galapagos, hiked the Australian Outback and has visited many ancient and mysterious sites, from Machu Pichu to Stonehenge.
