The Anomaly Archives is TinyCat’s “Library of the Month”!

TinyCat / LibraryThing - Library of the MonthWe are proud to report that TinyCat / LibraryThing have chose the Anomaly Archives as its “Library-of-the-Month” for December 2020! We first started using LibraryThing back in 2009 or so and were very happy to discover that they had expanded their features to include TinyCat: the easy to use OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) for small libraries such as ours! While our current online catalog needs updating (we’ve added a couple thousand more books since the last update) you can search our OPACS at these links here: TinyCat / LibraryThing.

The Anomaly Archives marathon series of FREE streaming “Virtual-Conference” fundraisers is nearing its end. We’ve got two more Saturday Streamathon sessions scheduled for this coming weekend, December 19th, and the final session is December 26th. You can watch all of our past streamathons at these links directly below. Further below is information on this coming Saturday’s lineup of presenters and special screenings of Director Brad Abrahams’ documentaries LOVE & SAUCERS and KEEP FOLKLORE ALIVE: TELOS OR BUST.
WARNING: The film LOVE & SAUCERS contains material
for mature audiences.

Recently our landlord informed us that they are not extending an invitation to renew our lease at our current location. We had hoped to be able to stay at the current location for as long as possible, or at least another year. However, the landlord, itself a nonprofit, has also been hit hard by the pandemic and is having to make its own tough decisions and that has included not renewing leases when its tenants’ current lease terms expire; this includes another nonprofit that has been there for 20 years.

Three years ago, our current location was recommended to us by one of our email newsletter subscribers. We hope that perhaps one of you reading this now might have another good location opportunity you are aware of and that you will share it with us. We’d prefer something with its own entrance, with good parking, centrally located (but preferably in South or East Austin / south of Koenig Lane aka 2222), 800-1200 square feet for no more than about $1,200 per month total. Even better are locations with utilities included in that pricing. If you have leads on good inexpensive location options for lease, please reach out to us via email at or leave the information in a voicemail at (512) 842-9046.

COMING UP THIS SATURDAY, December 19th, at 1pm CST. This FREE STREAMATHON EVENT SERIES continues and is being held every Saturday until the end of 2020. We are raising funds towards our $20,000 annual budget to ensure our continued survival into 2021 and beyond. We’re drawing together researchers from all corners of the Esoterica realms: Anomalistics, Cryptozoology, Forteana, Parapsychology, and Ufology. We’ll be streaming many hours of great content covering these and other fields of inquiry. We’ll be sharing a sort of “Fabulous Fortean Film Festival” evening, Plus Music and MORE! All in an effort to raise funds for our 501(c)3 nonprofit community organization to survive the circumstances created by this terrible Covid-Crisis.
