First Anomaly Adventure Club Meeting – February 8th, 3-5pm

“Bring ‘em Back Amused. The Tale of Frank Buck and his Monkey Mountain.”

There beats in the hearts of many the yearning for adventure, and so, in 1911, to satisfy that need “Adventure!” magazine was created. It was filled with thrilling tales of travel, intrigue, and exotic occurrences.

It spawned a club of like-minded people who gathered to revel in the idea of adventure and all its tantalizing trappings — the Adventurer’s Club. Adventurers gathered every month to share stories of excitement and glory. Many interesting people have crossed the Club’s threshold, and it is high time that their stories be shared with a wider audience.

One of these adventurers was once a household word and an American celebrity whose very name was a byword for all things exotic and thrilling. This was Frank Buck of Gainesville, Texas, an animal collector who cared so deeply about the animals he rounded up for zoos that his motto was, “Bring ‘em back alive.” His passion for animals led him to fame and fortune, movies and mayhem. The things he managed to do and experience in his lifetime will both astonish and amuse.

To find out more about this long-lost yet fascinating character from the recent past , please join us for “Bring ‘em Back Amused. The Tale of Frank Buck and his Monkey Mountain.”

The Anomaly Archives Adventurer’s Club meeting will be held from 3pm to 5 pm on Saturday, February 8th, 2020.

Book Of The Week

Inside the Black Vault:
The Government’s UFO Secrets Revealed

by John Greenewald Jr.

“In 1996, John Greenewald, Jr. began researching the secret inner workings of the U.S. Government at the age of fifteen. He targeted such agencies as the CIA, FBI, Pentagon, Air Force, Army, Navy, NSA, DIA, and countless others.

Greenewald utilized the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to gain access to more than two million pages of documents. This archive includes information relating to UFOs, the JFK Assassination, chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, and top secret aircraft. He took the millions of pages, and over the course of more than two decades, has built an archive known around the world, as The Black Vault.

Inside The Black Vault: The Government’s UFO Secrets Revealed takes you on a journey within the secret world of unidentified aerial phenomenon that has plagued the military since at least the 1940s. Declassified records prove that the UFO topic is one of the most highly classified and most elusive subjects the U.S. Government has ever dealt with. Each chapter explores various agencies and their documents, and Greenewald breaks down the meaning of why some of the most important documents are relevant to proving a massive cover-up.

Along with declassified documents, Greenewald outlines the struggle it took him to get them. No other topic has proven so difficult, in more than 8,000 FOIA requests that he has filed. He explores why that might be and meets skeptics and debunkers head on, outlining why some of their more prominent rebuttals for it all cannot be true.”

Book Of The Week

Wonders in the Sky:
Unexplained Aerial Phenomena From Antiquity to Modern Times

by Jacques Vallee &  Chris Aubeck

One of the most ambitious works of paranormal investigation of our time, here is an unprecedented compendium of pre-twentieth-century UFO accounts, written with rigor and color by two of today’s leading investigators of unexplained phenomena.

In the past century, individuals, newspapers, and military agencies have recorded thousands of UFO incidents, giving rise to much speculation about flying saucers, visitors from other planets, and alien abductions. Yet the extraterrestrial phenomenon did not begin in the present era. Far from it. The authors of Wonders in the Sky reveal a thread of vividly rendered-and sometimes strikingly similar- reports of mysterious aerial phenomena from antiquity through the modern age. These accounts often share definite physical features- such as the heat felt and described by witnesses-that have not changed much over the centuries. Indeed, such similarities between ancient and modern sightings are the rule rather than the exception.

In Wonders in the Sky, respected researchers Jacques Vallee and Chris Aubeck examine more than 500 selected reports of sightings from biblical-age antiquity through the year 1879-the point at which the Industrial Revolution deeply changed the nature of human society, and the skies began to open to airplanes, dirigibles, rockets, and other opportunities for misinterpretation represented by military prototypes. Using vivid and engaging case studies, and more than seventy-five illustrations, they reveal that unidentified flying objects have had a major impact not only on popular culture but on our history, on our religion, and on the models of the world humanity has formed from deepest antiquity.

Sure to become a classic among UFO enthusiasts and other followers of unexplained phenomena, Wonders in the Sky is the most ambitious, broad-reaching, and intelligent analysis ever written on premodern aerial mysteries.”

Four Volumes of Jacques Vallee’s Forbidden Science Journals

Greetings fellow Forteans, Anomalists, & UFOlks!

Book-of-the-Week

This issue of the newsletter features a Book-of-the-Week entry focused upon the latest installment of the personal journals of someone who is – by most UFOlks assessment – the world’s preeminent authority on the UFO phenomenon. In 1992, Jacques Vallee published the first volume of his personal journals covering 1957-1969. I remember my excitement upon first reading his deeply personal and amazingly historical chronicling of that early formative period of the “modern UFO era.” With each subsequent volume covering a decade’s time, I’d end up with copious notes for nearly every page of some bit of information I wanted to note and follow-up on later. This latest volume, number four covering the 1990s, is resulting in no less incidence of my note-taking and making my progress incredibly slow – as exciting as each volume always is. These journals have always helped clarify my understanding of Vallee’s pluralistic approach to exploring and potentially explaining the various phenomena surrounding the phenomenon. This period covering the 90s is particularly resonant with today’s current UFOlogical reprises that encompass such X-Files era favorites as billionaire Bob Bigelow’s NIDS organization (and what many call “NIDS 2.0” regarding the ongoing revelations about the AATIP Pentagon program and resulting “DeLongian” TTSA), Area-51 and Bob Lazar, Alien Autopsy footage, etc. In fact this fourth volume, covering as it does the decade of the 1990s, includes Vallee’s memories of getting feedback before and after the publishing of that first volume of his journals. If you’ve been following this newsletter closely you’ve already clicked through the links to articles citing Vallee’s journals and relating them to various recent events on those aforementioned subjects (Bigelow, Lazar, etc.).

The Anomaly Archives has acquired copies of all four volumes of Vallee’s Forbidden Science journals. We have copies of all four books in paperback version published by Anomalist Books. Years ago I donated my personal original edition hardcover copy of Volume One. My copies of Volumes Two and Three will be soon be donated. The Anomaly Archives also acquired an original hardcover edition of Volume Four, and it is an anomalous addition to the archives in that it does not have any printed spine information as it should. You can see from this photograph (right) that all other volumes have some sort of printed spine and when we inquired with other owners of this hardcover fourth volume edition, they asserted that there copies had a properly printed spine, like the rest of the volumes. We are pleased to have an anomalous copy of yet another fine book from one of Ufology’s most anomalous researcher. Why do I call him an “anomalous researcher”? Because most UFO lecturers claim to know that UFOs are ExtraTerrestrial craft but Vallee is more likely to say:

“I’m the only ufologist that doesn’t know what UFOs are.”

– Jacques Vallee on the Martin Willis Show – October 15th, 2019 (YouTube).

I first heard Vallee use that same basic line back in 1992 at the MUFON symposium in Albuquerque, NM. In his opening line (it is in the official printed proceedings) he said…

“I am quite happy to attend this conference but I am not quite sure why Walt Andrus invited me to speak to you: I may be the only person here who doesn’t know what UFOs are. Most ufologists know (or think they know) that UFOs are extraterrestrial vehicles, in other words, spacecraft from another planet.”

Anomalistic Headline News

As with each issue for the past 2 years… there are many (often contradictory and controversial) news articles about the ongoing media campaign of “NIDS 2.0” … DeLonge’s To The Stars Academy of … leveraging the Pentagon’s covert Black Budget intellectual property as multi-level multi-media marketing efforts. Or however you’d personally like to characterize this current UAP-Era.

Mandela-Effects

Miles’ Mandela-Moment:

“I remember the braces – they are the punchline to the scene” is how I and several of my deepest fan-boy friends have reacted to my introducing them to this memory-meme.

As much as I am a fan of PKD’s “revelation of the matrix” 1977 speech (RigorousIntuition Forums) most of the Mandela Effect examples leave me nodding my head saying, yep – memory is a tricky thing and most of these examples (especially the product logo/name ones) strike me as just plain old fallibility of memory as well as the social re-write nature of the “telephone game” in which stories are altered during the re-transmitting of the memes.

But there have been a couple that have stuck in my craw like this Moonraker Braces example as well as the “C-3PO had a silver leg in the original Star Wars” example! In both of those cases my fan-boy friends and I are left scratching our heads.

I too can imagine the dvd release including digitally modified elements (think of the CGI’d-out machine guns held by the Feds in Spielberg’s E.T.) … but, perhaps it really is just a trick of memory for the braces… my wife hadn’t seen Moonraker and when my friend and I watched the DVD blu-ray version (it’s what we had on hand) and went to that scene, my wife commented that perhaps the fact that Dolly was wearing glasses and pigtails was enough for most minds watching it at the time to imagine she had braces, like the overlay of a false “archetypal nerd image” on top of the perception. But that still does not sit well with me because I always remembered that (at least, in retrospect I believe I’ve always remembered it that way) as the POINT of the scene, especially with her SMILING to reveal her teeth AFTER the Jaws character reveals his mouthful of metal!

There have been some interesting storm and earthquake related news headlines of late in Texas or possibly related to the recent intense weather (or Fracking?) …

Book Of The Week

Forbidden Science – Volume Four:
Journals 1990-1999 – The Spring Hill Chronicles

by Jacques Vallee

Forbidden Science Volume Four

“A new book by Jacques Vallee is must reading for every serious student of UFOs and  paranormal phenomena and also – I would add – esotericist. His writings are always intellectually challenging with new data and inside views from the UFO research community. The Forbidden Science Journals are now into the fourth volume, covering the decade 1990- 1999, subtitled The Spring Hill Chronicles. The difference this time is that many diary entries deal with Vallee´s work as private investor and venture capitalist. Somewhat frustating to readers, like me, who is not fascinated by economy and high finance.”

SOURCE: Håkan Blomqvist´s Review

“Known principally as an investigator of the UFO phenomenon (Dimensions ) and a science fiction novelist, the French-born Vallee (now a resident of the U.S.) has also worked as a computer scientist in both academia and industry. Ufologists will not find the answers to all of their questions here, for although Vallee believes that UFOs exist, he has no idea just what they are. Therein lies the excellence of his dazzling diary: it offers a glimpse into the mind of a scientist who seems to challenge every preconception and established piety.”

SOURCE: Publishers Weekly

“With Jacques playing a central role in ufology since the 1960s, these books chart much of the history of ufology between 1960 and 1990 – anybody interested in the topic really should consider these required reading. So I was happy to find out that, while Jacques originally self-published Forbidden Science in a slightly expensive hardcover format, the good folks at Anomalist Books have recently re-released the three volumes in more affordable paperback editions:

Greetings fellow Forteans, Anomalists, & UFOlks!

It’s a Bigfoot extravaganza this issue – having recently watched documentarian Seth Breedlove’s On the Trail of Bigfoot series and thoroughly enjoyed it, I’ve chosen to share one of the six episodes he’s shared for free via his YouTube channel. The episode in question is the one we’ve touched upon in past eNews installments where Seth and crew visited the Texas-based NAWAC (North American Wood Ape) group’s “Area-X” research site deep in the Ouachita Mountains in Southeastern Oklahoma. All of the episodes are excellent and I urge interested Anomalists to give them a try. I also highly recommend his other series – the ones I’ve watched and enjoyed include: The Flatwoods Monster: A Legacy of Fear (2018), Invasion on Chestnut Ridge (2017), The Mothman of Point Pleasant (2017), Casefiles (2017), and Minerva Monster (2015) – most of which are available on various streaming platforms.

Also in keeping with the Cryptozoological Extravaganza… for this week’s eNews Book-of-the-Week, I’ve chosen one of the bigger and deeper historical overviews of the 1970s era birth of modern Bigfoot research.

In other Bigfoot / Cryptozoology news…

“Brad Ginn and Madelyn Durand, a couple of Western Kentucky University students, said they were awakened in the middle of the night last weekend during a camping trip to Mammoth Cave by a gun-toting man hellbent on tracking down the legendary creature.”

Those last two stories of a couple’s strange experience while camping at Mammoth Cave reflect other recent darker headlines involving acts of gun violence committed by people with extreme “alternative” views of reality ranging from this Arizona case of a gun-wielding Bigfoot believer to a murder case in New York where lawyer’s say the shooter in the thrall of a conspiracy theory they call the “QAnon delusion“:

“A 24-year-old man who has been charged with shooting to death a reputed New York mob boss earlier this year thought he was under the influence of QAnon, pro-Trump Internet postings about the president supposedly battling a cabal of liberal elites, his lawyer wrote in a recent submission to New York state court.”

Of course these two incidents pale in comparison to the terrible tragedies in El Paso and Dayton. As I’ve mentioned before, I am a survivor of a 1979 mass-shooting / sniper event at San Antonio’s 1979 Fiesta “Battle of the Flowers” Parade. I’ve followed the transformation of the high school suicide cluster phenomenon and workplace rampage shootings of the 1980s and 90s as they’ve morphed into the surreal “Mass-Shooter Mayhem” / “Amok America” time we are living through now. I’ve reported on far too many of these incidents over the past twelve years on my PsiOp-Radio show. As much as I wish for us to find a solution to end these atrocities and as sickened as it makes me to research the topic, I find myself continuing to research the issue and revisit past attacks. To that end, I’ve been watching the Showtime TV series, Active Shooter: America Under Fire. It is a very powerful documentary series that focuses on the events themselves as told through the stories of survivors and emergency responders. Anyway – be careful out there; look out for each other and take care of one another…

. . .

Meanwhile, the UFO circus continues with reviews of the recent MUFON 50th Anniversary Symposium, continued critical analysis of the state of verified information about Tom DeLonge’s To The Stars Academy and the military UFO work of Luis Elizondo, reflection on the life and work of Mario Pazzaglini, deep-state / parapolitical audio interview with ARG (Alternate/Augmented Reality Games) pioneer Joseph Matheny on transmedia storytelling and the FBI’s recent warning against QAnon conspiracy theories as potential Domestic Terror Threat, and many other weird news stories for you to read.

Finally, we pay our respects to recently passed paranormal researcher Rosemary Ellen Guiley:

“She authored and compiled nearly 65 books, including books in the “Fate Presents” series, which included her newest title, Planet Bigfoot (2019).”

FLASHBACKS: Anomaly Archives eNews issues circa 2016 & 2017

Cargo-Culture:

Anomaly Archives board member, Jeremy Wells, is a journalist writing for the Grayson Journal-Enquirer in Grayson, Kentucky. One of his latest articles can be found in the Spring 2019 edition of the Olive Hill Quarterly. It’s about Seth Breedlove’s latest project from his Small Town Monsters productions (YouTube channel), called On the Trail of Bigfoot. The article, Exploring Reports From The Pacific Northwest To The TriState, can be read online (pages 14-19). If you are truly deeply interested in the subject of CryptoZoology and Bigfoot in America, we highly recommend Jeremy’s more in-depth interview with Seth Breedlove available on YouTube, which we feature as our Cargo-Culture feature for this installment of the Anomaly Archives newsletter, below.

All of this Bigfootery reminds us of the excellent presentation that Jeremy gave to our Anomaly Archives audience back a couple of years ago … this flashback below also features links to the SasWhat podcast episode from two years ago in which a different Seth talks with Texas based bigfoot research org memebers from NAWAC about the infamous Area-X that Jeremy talks about with Seth (Breedlove) in our Cargo Culture feature video…

FLASHBACK March 2016: Bigfoot reports & southern habitats . . .

Talking “On The Trail Of Bigfoot” with Seth Breedlove

“Journalist Jeremy D. Wells discusses the new “On the Trail of Bigfoot” mini-series, from Small Town Monsters, with writer and producer Seth Breedlove.

NOTES: I mistakenly say Daryl Colyer had his first Bigfoot sighting along the Pedernales River. Colyer has confirmed that it was actually along the Trinity River where a large, red (the color of dead pine needles), hair-covered creature crossed the path in front of him. This interview was initially the basis for a magazine article and review of the “On the Trail of Bigfoot” series. Though there are things in the audio that Breedlove asked me not to focus on in that story, or to keep “off the record”, he has given his permission to use the complete, unedited audio of our interview.”

Area 51 might be the most well-known top secret military base in the world. It has appeared in movies, tv, books, and video games. Yet we still don’t know what is going on in there. We take a trip to the middle of nowhere to find out what’s going on with Area 51! What goes on in Area 51? Where is Area 51?

The Anomaly Archives Weekly Email Newsletter

March 21st, 2019 – Austin, Texas

Greetings everyone…

There is always so much going on that I’d like to explore and comment upon but alas, there aren’t enough hours in my day – if only the Anomaly Archives were my “day job.” Suffice to say I urge you to comb through this issue’s many items of interest; from the Video-of-the-Week and Cargo-Culture columns to the amazing array of Anomalous-Headlines.

There’s a good article about the Mystery Hum in the news (see my past lecture on my own personal experience and research) plus news on a study showing humans can sense electromagnetic fields.

We survived another week+ of crazed crowds as well as the requisite increase in traffic and violence (to a level we’ve never seen before) caused by the massive influx of people as part of Austin’s annual SXSW media / music festival. Among the raft of movie premieres at this year’s festivities were “Becoming Leslie,” the “Documentary of [a] man who was the epitome of keeping Austin weird…” and “J.R. ‘Bob’ Dobbs and the Church of the SubGenius,” the documentary that Looks at a Religious Hoax.

Meanwhile there are several articles linked in the news section below detailing the Momo/YouTube parental-panic, loads of links to new books and reviews, yet more articles chronicling the unfolding AATIP / TTSA saga including Luis Elizondo’s recent presentation – “UFOs ARE Real” – at the SCU’s Scientific Conference on Anomalous Aerospace Phenomena held at the Rocket City Tavern in Huntsville, Alabama, near Redstone Arsenal, the History channel’s launch of the new To The Stars Academy series Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation. There is so much I’d like to say about these developments but for now I’ll just quote Red Pill Junkie from his latest Daily Grail article, UFO Programming, TTSA, Techgnosis & Hyperreality:

“It bears repeating that TTSA’s connection with the US Intelligence world should not be overlooked… Whenever the CIA or other agencies get involved in the production of a UFO documentary, some subrosa agenda is always embedded…

A TTSA series might be utilized as a tool to manipulate public opinion so it aligns with some hidden agenda. An agenda that might seek to sell UFOs to the American public as a technological ‘threat’ which should be urgently studied –and even harnessed if possible– lest the Chinese and the Russians beat them to it.

TTSA has never hidden its purpose to mass produce entertainment content intended to ‘educate’ the public about the reality of UFO phenomenon. From Robbie’s perspective, we could say they seek to manipulate the ‘hyperreality’ of UFOs according to their goals, and they will use all their tools at their disposal –History Channel’s distribution, CGI cinematics, compelling testimonies of credible witnesses– to do so.”

Video-of-the-Week:

We’ve finally posted the videos from December’s OPEN HOUSE Event, with a 30 minute introduction to the Anomaly Archives by SMiles Lewis and two hour video of Nick Redfern‘s lecture, Top Secret Alien Abduction Files: What the Government Doesn’t Want You to Know, including a half-hour Question-and-Answer session with special Dulce-New-Mexico-Mystery-Black-Helicopter story from San Antonio journalist, Ed Conroy (author of the fantastic book, Report on Communion)! These videos aren’t perfect – there are some audio and video issues – but we know you’ll enjoy these phenomenal presentations.

COMING SOON: More videos to be posted soon, including Barbara MacLeod’s epic State-Shamanism presentation, past lectures and interviews with late Texas paranormal-Bigfoot researcher Rob Riggs, and many more! All to be featured at the Anomaly Archives YouTube Channel.

PLUS: Don’t forget there are loads of new videos being posted at the Institute for Neuroscience and Consciousness Studies (INACS) YouTube Channel.

FLASHBACK March 2016: Bigfoot reports & southern habitats . . .

Anomaly Archives Board Member Jeremy Wells will be presenting / discussing Bigfoot reports and habitat in East Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Jeremy currently works as a freelance writer, editor, and training specialist in the video game industry and served as a researcher and field investigator with the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy (now NAWAC – North American Wood Ape Conservancy). We hope you’ll join us for this sure to be interesting and educational lecture.

[NOTE: This is not an official presentation by NAWAC – though I highly recommend there work. If you’d like to learn more about their efforts, visit their website and take a listen to this recent episode of the SasWhat podcast.]

Episode 84: Talking Area X (again) and Apes with Brian Brown – This week Seth sits down with Brian Brown to talk about the latest happenings with the NAWAC and their recent experiences in Area X. If you’ve been itching to hear what activity has been taking place inside the Ouachitas this past Winter then this is the episode for you! Special thanks to our listeners for submitting the bulk of the questions used in this episode.

Book-of-the-Week:

Another rare old book from the Bob Girard Collection… this one from the early 1800s on the enigma of Stonehenge – and with an amazingly psychedelic cover print… this little gem is so cool that we showed it off at last year at our Austin Archives Bazaar booth and our Open House event.

Until next issue…

Introduction to the Anomaly Archives at the December 8th, 2018, Open House Event.

SMiles Lewis gives an introductory overview of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Scientific Anomaly Institute (Anomaly Archives) as part of the opening ceremonies for the Open House event for both the archives and its partner organization, INACS (Institute for Neuroscience And Consciousness Studies). This Open House event featured introductions to INACS by board president Bob Price, SAI founder and president SMiles Lewis, featured guest speaker Nick Redfern, tours of the new facility, and Holiday Celebration Party afterwards.

In this introduction, Miles gives some brief background on himself and what led him to found the Anomaly Archives in 2003. He describes some of the various donated collections that comprise the thousands of books and periodicals (plus paper files, digital / web files etc.) held within the Anomaly Archives.

He also briefly describes the various past locations of the Anomaly Archives while also describing the mission / goals and activities of the nonprofit.

Miles gives thanks to the many people he’s met along the way who have helped him with the organization through their volunteerism, donated collections, and more.

The many historic anomalous incidents that have occurred across the state of Texas are touched upon; from famous cryptid sightings (Bigfoot, Lake Worth Monster, etc.) to famous UFO sightings like the Cash-Landrum close encounter, Ray Stanford’s Blue Book “Unidentified” case from Austin’s Mansfield Dam, and local experiencers like San Antonio’s Whitley Strieber, and other abductees across Texas.

Talking “On The Trail Of Bigfoot”
with Seth Breedlove

The Anomaly Archives Weekly Email Newsletter

February 16th, 2019 – Austin, Texas

“Technology is great – when it works!”

So so sorry for the delay in getting another edition out to all of our wonderful email newsletter subscribers. We have been struggling with website and email related issues for the past month and a half. We sent out a test email to subscribers back on February 3rd but about a fourth of our subscribers (pretty much everyone with a Yahoo, Gmail, or AOL email address) did not receive the test and it appears we’ve been blacklisted and have had no luck trying to fix the situation. And some of those who received the test email said it had gone into their spam / junk folders.

If you can help with these issues please contact me. Thank you!

In the meantime, we’re just forging ahead as best we can… if you receive this from a different email address than usual – ScientificAnomalyInstitute@Gmail.com for instance – it is likely because we could tell from the MailChimp reports that you didn’t get it through our normal method of sending the newsletter and we are trying to send it to you via the old-fashioned way… through an alternate Anomaly Archives email addy.

We will also be trying to post this edition to the website as we always do but in a faster fashion.

And did you know, you can subscribe to the website by using the “Subscribe to Blog via Email” function built into the website. If you go to any page on AnomalyArchives.org you can see a widget in the right-hand sidebar just below the Anomaly Archives logo that says:

“Subscribe to Blog via Email

Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.”

… and then below that is a field to enter your email addy and then an orange “Subscribe” button.

We’re going to keep trying to fix this email newsletter problem but as they say, the show must go on! And what a show we are living through; we certainly live in “Interesting Times”. So many amazing news articles and new videos and books are coming out it hard to stay on top of it all.

Below you will find the now several weeks old email newsletter that was ready to send out quite some time ago … we’ve updated the news-links section but not added any more specific news items to the editorial below, though there are several amazing gems we hope you notice and take the time to discover more.

Well, until next time, keep watching the website and try to keep track of us in whatever way you can: our website, facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.

SMiles Lewis’ recent appearance on Erica Lukes’ UFO-CLASSIFIED radio show is now available in Audio MP3 and YouTube formats.

I had a great time talking with Erica on a wide variety of topics ranging from my personal approach to UFOs, the problem of speculative conspiracy theorizing (especially as it relates to mass-shooting events) as well as anonymity issues within the field of ufology.

Erica has recently launched her own archival effort with WAPA: Western Aerial Phenomena Archive there in Utah. You can find more about her and her work at UfoClassified.com and EricaLukes.com. you can listen to her show LIVE at this LINK HERE on the KCORradio.com website or listen to past shows in MP3 format and at her YouTube channel.

Video-of-the-Week:

We are excited to announce the triumphant return of new videos from our INACS partners; board president, Bob Price, has resumed producing archival videos of past INACS lecture events, beginning with its first event at our new downtown location from last May, 2018. This presentation features Ned Wolf discussing dowsing and radionics for personal health.

More new videos are being posted at the INACS’ YouTube Channel:
Institute for Neuroscience and Consciousness Studies (INACS)

Book-of-the-Week:

This issue’s book of the week is by a longtime local friend of mine who is a PhD physicist. We met online back in the late 1990s through our mutual interest in sleep paralysis and related phenomena.

Sirley recently donated to INACS over 160 books from her personal library.

Next month (on Tuesday, February 19th) IONS Austin (Co-Sponsored by INACS) is hosting a presentation by Sirley on this subject at its next Meetup. Click the link for more details …

Self-Experiments with Consciousness and Hypnagogia: A scientist’s personal exploration of consciousness at the threshold of sleep and beyond by Sirley Marques Bonham, Ph.D.

Book Of The Week

Self-Experiments with Consciousness and Hypnagogia:

A scientist’s personal exploration of consciousness at the threshold of sleep and beyond

by Sirley Marques Bonham, Ph.D.

Tom Campbell – noted Physicist and author of “My Big Toe” writes in the Foreword of Sirley’s new book .. “There are thousands of reports of psi events that have been experienced by credible individuals and competent researchers during the last two hundred years but none have developed an overarching model that explains everything (normal and paranormal)…. What is needed, what Dr. Bonham seeks is a new perspective, a new way of looking at reality that circumvents the materialistic perspective that has so completely dominated thinking in science as well as in Western culture generally.”

“This book tells about the author’s personal experience with subjective phenomena of the human mind and consciousness, with special emphasis on phenomena perceived at the threshold of sleep and wakefulness, known as hypnopompic and hypnogogic experiences (or in short “hypnagogia”), which she considers quite special, as it will allow a person to maintain awareness, or lucidity, while the physical body falls asleep, therefore having the chance to explore out-of-body experiences and lucid dreams. However, it is not all about out-of-body experiences or lucid dreams, as she tells about her personal experiences from her involvement with esoteric philosophy and the Brazilian spiritism, and discusses several special issues from the development of her knowledge on other subjects, like for example remote viewing, starting with her involvement with the Society for Scientific Exploration where she met with the first explorers and the initiators of remote viewing research. The author also improved her knowledge of the mind through her involvement with neuroscience, as well as psychological theories of cognition, and research on memory and learning. Her personal experiences also lead her to study the literature on the subject of bio-energetic phenomena (the so-called Kundalini phenomena) and other interesting areas that address the subjective phenomena of the mind in many forms. One important subject discussed is that of “sleep paralysis,” which can produce problematic hypnagogias. In fact she has published a scientific paper, along with Jean-Christophe Terrillon, on recurrent sleep paralysis, which has been widely referred in the literature on this subject, after its publication by the Journal of Scientific Exploration in 2001. This paper is included in the book as an appendix, due to its importance in helping people suffering from this condition. Finally, this book assesses the present panorama with personal subjective experiences in general, which the author strongly believes may produce important developments in the understanding of the mind and consciousness in general, consequently increasing the possibility of experiencing the worlds beyond the physical, or beyond death.”

Creating Vibrant Health with Dowsing and Radionics, Pt 1, featuring Ned Wolf

Sunday, May 27th, 2018, 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Presented at INACS’ new office and conference space:
55 North IH-35, Austin, TX 78702, 2nd fl Training Rm

In this presentation, we explore the ancient art of dowsing as well as the dynamics of creating vibrant health and healing with dowsing and radionics. In so doing, we expand our awareness of the true power of healing that resides within each of us. Radionics is a healing technique in which our natural intuitive faculties are used both to discover the energetic disturbances underlying illness and to encourage the return of an energetic field that supports good health. In trained hands, dowsing and radionic treatment can be helpful in enhancing wellness and treating a wide range of conditions.

As beings of energy, we can benefit greatly from mastering the ancient art of dowsing. As a tool, dowsing is an effective discipline for melding our intellectual with our intuitive consciousness. This process enhances both types of consciousness and through it we become more tuned into the messages that originate from the subtle realms of reality.

This ancient practice of dowsing can also been used to expand our perceptual mechanisms and to replace superstitious and distorted thinking with clear perceptions of the many layers of reality in which we exist.

About our speaker: Ned Wolf is an author, counselor, natural healer, and musician. Ned has written a number of books, including Awaken Your Power To Heal, published in 1999. That was followed by a book of poetry called Sailing On A Banshee Wind and Floraporna, a collection of macrophotography featuring Western Australian flowers. In his latest works, the Nandia Trilogy, Ned illuminates through a magical adventure how each of us is here to express our unique contribution to humankind’s collective growth and evolution.

In his healing work, Ned uses vibrational therapies that are produced radionically, including Reiki energy, as well as rebirthing breathwork.

When Ned was eight years old, a water dowser showed him how to find water using twin L-shaped dowsing rods. Later, he was trained in the use of a pendulum and today he teaches classes not only in medicinal dowsing, but also Reiki counseling and the use of mediation skills.

Ned Wolf lives in Northern Arizona on the banks of twin lakes that overlook a national forest. In his spare time, Ned is a tennis enthusiast, practices Tai Chi, pursues his passion for playing and singing music and enjoys caring for the wide variety of wildlife that come calling at his back door. An avid student of Jane Roberts’ Seth books, he enjoys dreamtime work as well as creating opportunities for himself and others to expand their creative expressions.

Anomaly Archives Presents…

Maya Shamanism: The Transmutation of Sustenance
by Dr. Barbara MacLeod

Sunday, September 23rd – 3pm at The Anomaly Archives

The Anomaly Archives is proud to support the Mysterious Ancient Civilizations meetup group in presenting this lecture from Austin’s own Mayan language expert, Dr. Barbara MacLeod.

Maya Shamanism: The Transmutation of Sustenance

Dr. Barbara MacLeod takes us on a journey of the metaphysical ideology of the Classic Maya royal court through translations of hieroglyphs found on cups that were from the Maya royal dynasty.

“The ancient Maya practiced state shamanism, in which kings and their families engaged in conjuring deities and ancestors and made offerings of their own blood to feed the earth. War captives were common offerings as well. Mythological scenes on royal drinking-cups placed in tombs feature serpent-deities conjured amid altered states of consciousness, and it is now possible to speculate on the entheogenic plants used. Sometimes the conjurors themselves were deities.

This practice was fundamental to Maya kingship and became fossilized and codified in the form of the “ceremonial serpent bar” worn by kings at the accessions at major events in the calendar. Infants were also sacrificed, although likely not those of royalty; another mythic theme on these cups depicts the sacrifice of a human baby who becomes an infant jaguar as he transitions from one world to the next. All of this is orchestrated by k’awiil–the metaphysical manifestation of lightning.

This is an origin myth, archaic at the time these vases were painted. It functioned as a charter for the ongoing reciprocity between humans and gods required for the perpetuation of the royal dynasty, the fecundity of the earth, and the reliability of the rains.” Dr. Barbara MacLeod

If the cups could talk, oh the stories we would hear!

We hope you’ll join us on a journey of myths, ceremonies, royalty, and sacrifices of the ancient Maya civilization.

Meeting to be held in second floor conference room. Access into building is limited, door person will be at the front door to allow guests to enter. Door may be locked 10 minutes after meeting starts, please try to arrive before 3pm.

Video-of-the-Week

Recently I’ve had the chance to catch-up on a number of wonderful videos produced by Jason Charbonneau at his Think Anomalous YouTube Channel. There are so many great videos to watch there like the one about The Voronezh UFO Landing, 1989 and Hieronyma and the Incubus – Sleep Paralysis, Sexuality, and Anomalous Entity Encounters, or classic monster encounters like the Flatwoods “Monster,” 1952 and Kelly Hopkinsville Encounter, The Goblin “Invasion” of 1955 and important historic cases from outside North America such as Italy’s Zanfretta Abductions, 1978-1981 and Sweden’s Abduction of Jacob Jacobsson, 1759. Of course, the video that would make me decide to feature it as our Video of the Week is about my favorite researcher … Jacques Vallée.

Book-of-the-Week

For this week’s book, we’re going Atlantean with one of our many books on the subject of this mythic ancient civilization. We have so many books in our Girard Collection focused on this topic but this particular title stands out due both to its being an autographed copy of a small original print-run but also the strange binding that features patterned cloth – of which there were several different prints used as one can see looking over the other rare copies for sale online. Also, you have to admire the artwork used on later traditional print-runs that feature a dynamic painting by the author. (See below).

New Meetup Group

We’ve resurrected our Anomaly Archives Meetup.com Group and will soon begin posting information about upcoming get-togethers here at the archive and lending library… and BEYOND!!

Volunteering at the Archives

Folks have been helping us finish setting up our new shelving, organizing the collections, tweaking the online catalog and more. In the near future we’ll need many more volunteers to help us staff the Anomaly Archives so that it can finally begin having traditional weekday business hours. If you think you have what it takes to help the Anomaly Archives achieve its operational goals, please give founder SMiles Lewis a call (512-842-9046) or send an email (contact@anomalyarchives.org).

Jacques Vallée, UFOs, and the Case Against Aliens

  Think Anomalous

  Published on Jan 22, 2017
“For more than 20 years after the flying saucer frenzy of the late 1940s, the Extraterrestrial Hypothesis (ETH) remained the default explanation for UFOs. Jacques Vallée, a French astronomer and ufologist, was the first to challenge the ETH, and he followed the UFO data towards some unorthodox and fascinating conclusions.

Atlantis: Mother of Empires
by Robert B. Stacy-Judd

“It is my wish to discuss with the reader certain assumptions and opinions, hypotheses and theories in an easily understandable form and in a spirit free of dogmatism and intolerance .” Robert B. Stacy-Judd (1884-1975)

bb ) Among the classics of Atlantology of the first half of the twentieth century that are little known in this country are Robert Benjamin Stacy-Judd’s, 1939, major work: Atlantis – Mother of Empires . [1] This opus represents one of the great Atlantic studies in the school of Ignatius Donnelly (1831-1901), in which the classical theory of Atlantological diffusionism is represented in a modified and updated variation.

Who is John Ford, er Frum ?  CARGO CULTure Special !

A series of recent video watching synchronicities inspired me to do another installment of our CARGO CULTure feature using some of the alien-themed videos that the YouTube-algorithm-Gods put in my path.

The John Ford / Frum references … those familiar with the story of the cargo cults on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu knowhe is “often depicted as an American World War II serviceman who will bring wealth and prosperity to the people if they follow him.”

In preparing this installment I accidentally typed Ford instead of Frum … which led me to review the case of the Long Island UFO/Alien-Believer, John Ford, who many feel has been illegally imprisoned after being framed for conspiracy to commit radiological murder. I recall first hearing about the case back in the late 1990s via the Errol Bruce Knapp’s UFO UpDates eList – he was arrested on my birthday back in 1996. Well, Mr. Ford is STILL incarcerated despite many developments of note in his case over the years. Whatever one might think about his beliefs, his case warrants our attention. You can find a wealth of information linked from our John Ford website archive.

Book of the Week…

More synchronicity? This past weekend as I was preparing this issue I selected a title I’d been wanting to highlight for some time as our copy is signed and addressed to the collector (Bob Girard) whose personal collection we acquired a couple of years ago (thanks to the coordination of Tom Deuley by way of the UFO Research Coalition). Well, how strange is it that the latest “Attack Against Austin” bombing occurred at Dawn Song Drive on March 18th … “On March 18, 1314, Jacques de Molay, the 23rd and final Grand Master of the Knights Templar, is burned at the stake” and coinciding the same day on the other side of the globe with a killing at the Temple Mount by a “Dawn Star”? Sometimes a coincidence is just coincidence, right?

So what is this installment’s Book-Of-The-Week? Only the Knights Templar know for sure…

Parts by Oshun (Official Video)

One of the first videos I came across when searching for artists at this year’s SXSW. I didn’t expect the Flying Saucer / Space Brotha imagery … but apparently it’s “AfroFuturism”!

Flying Saucer by Brave Combo (Fan Video)

“I don’t wanna read your book.
I don’t wanna hear your tale.
I don’t wanna see any photos you took,
or get UFO news in the mail.”

I’d heard this fantastic Texas Polka band’s classic song “Flying Saucer” quite some time ago and have seen a couple of different fan-videos – most recently the one above, suggested to me by YouTube’s algorithms. This one features a dizzying array of UFO and alien imagery from houses shaped like Flying Saucers to various photos of celebrities and movie clips pointedly referencing the lyrics.

Enjoy!

“Brave Combo is part of the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Roster. Support for Texas schools, libraries, and non-profit organizations may be available to assist with booking fees through the Cultural Connections Performance Support grant application.”

Milla Jovovich – “The Alien Song (For Those Who Listen)” (Live Video)

Another random video featuring an alien aspect by the YouTube’s algorithms is this unexpected treasure from one of my favorite “Old Austin” venues: Liberty Lunch circa 1994 and Austin Community Access Television’s own DaveTV.org RawTime  YouTube Channel. Until seeing this I’d forgotten that model / actress (Fifth Element, Resident Evil, The Fourth Kind, etc.) Jovovich had a musical side.

Book of the Week…

The Templars and the Assassins
The Militia of Heaven
by Jim Wasserman

From the Preface

A thousand years ago the eerie stillness of what is now the Israeli desert was shattered by the thunderous cacophony of armored horses’ hooves racing to battle. The metal to metal clash of swords and lances striking armor and shield resounded through the field. Battle cries mixed with the screams of the wounded, the blasts of trumpets, the shouted commands in many foreign tongues. Muslim battled Christian for possession of a strip of land upon which both their religions were founded. Some thousands of miles away in the mountain fastness south of the Caspian Sea in modern Iraq, a Persian adept sat wrapped in a rigid posture of meditation, while his mind’s eye gazed upon another deadly scene. One of his most trusted disciples, disguised as a Sufi mystic, had just approached the litter of the powerful Seljuk vizier. His dagger plunged into the vizier’s heart seconds before he too was struck down by the guards. Hasan-i-Sabah must have experienced a moment of relief, as the death of his sworn enemy would lessen the Turkish threat to Alamut. Fate would soon smile kindly again on the besieged Assassin community as the Seljuk Sultan himself passed away within weeks of his slain vizier.

The richness of the historical truths of the Order of Assassins and the Knights Templar intertwine inexorably with the myths that have stimulated the imagination of countless minds through the centuries. Both the Assassins and Templars were destroyed as heretics some seven hundred years ago. While the Assassins (more properly Nizari Ismailis) survive to this day under the leadership of the Aga Khan, the period of their history under discussion was obliterated by their Mongolian and Mameluke conquerors in 1256 and 1273 respectively. They were slandered by Sunni heresiologists who considered them religious criminals, and by medieval Christian historians who considered them pagan idolaters. The Templars similarly have no surviving corpus of written material, despite the probability that as a medieval religious order, they kept scrupulous records of their doings. They too were written in dark ink by historians of the same power structure that tortured and murdered them and destroyed their Order. As history is written by the victors, we make haste at the outset to state that our study focuses on the vanquished.

My initial attraction to the Assassins and Templars was based on my interest in secret societies. I have devoted most of my life to participating and sharing in the mystical aspirations embodied in a secret society that claims derivation from the mythical union between the Assassins and Templars during the Crusades. I have also made a great effort to understand the influence of associations of people whose interests are far less spiritually motivated than those just described. Associations whose concerns are the political management, read domination, of mankind.

I believe that an examination of the Assassins under Hasan-i-Sabah will reveal a deeply mystical secret society which did much to manipulate the political reality of its day in order to spread its religious teaching and establish its own political freedom in a hostile environment. The Knights Templars as a group were less sophisticated. However, the early influence of the mystical teachings of St. Bernard would have created an inner corps of initiates who sought spiritual attainment through their association with the Order, and who benefited greatly by their exposure to the wisdom they would encounter in Holy Land.

Holiday UFO Gifts To Unwrap…

The past two weeks have been quite a ride for folks interested in the UFO subject. The revelation of what many have suspected for a long time, that the Pentagon likely has ongoing projects investigating mysterious anomalous encounters, has ignited the media-sphere with discussion of this big UFO news. Some have known this was coming for over a year. Pop-punk icon turned paranormal media mogulTom DeLonge has been teasing such revelations for a long time and back on October 11th he made UFOlogical history with his social media streamed press teleconference launching his crowdfunded Public Benefit Corporation, To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science, that features a bevy of Deep State Intelligence Operatives on its founding board of advisors. It wasn’t until two weeks ago and the NYTimes’ media campaign’s rollout of the identity of the Pentagon’s Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, that the extent and shape of this introductory “disclosure” began to be fleshed out by various investigative journalists both within and without the UFO research community.

At the Anomaly Archives’ File/Collection pages below you can find a fantastic collection of links to news and analysis of this latest and greatest UFO Media Flap!

. . . Susan Lepselter, an anthropology professor at Indiana University Bloomington, pointed out that the times we live in have a lot to do with the fears that inform our thinking about UFOs — from the nuclear era to global warming.

“Our sense of precariousness is very high right now,” Lepselter tells us. “When you think about an alien or UFO, it reminds us we are all citizens of Earth.”

“Forget what the believers and the skeptics say. Forget what you’ve seen, or think you’ve seen, with your own eyes. There’s no way to know if the Marfa lights are real—and that’s what’s so great about them.”
