“Where to begin…

Today Rod Rodriguez passed away.

He left this reality and moved on.

I wish I could have spoken to him before he left, but I had no idea how ill he really was, and I had always thought that we would meet up again sometime, have a beer and talk about old times.

This was not to be, as he died this morning.

I met Rod back in 1995, not long after I had arrived in the United States. I would visit Music Plus to rent movies and buy the occasional CD, and Rod worked there. I remember he had long hair and was a musician, a cool guy.

Soon after we both ended up working together in Tower Records, and thats when we became fast friends. Mainly due to our passion was Star Wars, music and beer. Plus we also shared the same sense of humor and routinely cracked each other up while at work.

Long after we left Tower we remained in touch and routinely would go to our local “Shakeys” for pizza and beer. And it was during one of these visits in 2005 that I talked to Rod about doing a humorous weekly news podcast, and as we shot ideas back and forth the Nervous Teeth show was formed.

The show ran for four years and was very popular.

The interview presented here, was recorded in March 2006 and in it I talked to Rod about waking up from the “matrix” and discovering that the world may not be as it appears. At the time these thoughts where very new to Rod, and in this interview he discusses the effects of this new world view had on his life.

For those of you who remember Rod and his time on Nervous Teeth, you already have a mental sound image of his humor and wit. Rod was a great man, and one that I’m proud to have known.

So sit back, drink a beer, and remember Rod Rodriguez.

We will miss you Rod…”
