“This talk integrates a complex portrait of contemporary conspiracy theory, drawing mostly from QAnon, into an archetypal framework based on gnostic/Christian critique of power directed towards spiritual and worldly “principalities” (exemplified by Walter Wink0. It suggests that conspiracy theory should in some ways be seen as a kind of gnostic “arkonlogy” that often degenerates into literalist demonism. The talk was delivered as part of the University of Southern Mississippi’s Philosophy & Religion Forum.”
