“An Author, Long Dead, Makes an Astonishing and Convincing Request to be Heard Unknown Country

An image of a conference stage with “something” in RBG not there in real life that was taken by a non-identified participant at this year’s Contact in the Desert event has drawn Whitley Strieber and Greg Bishop’s attention. When the RGB portion of the image was processed through ChatGPT the head of a man looking rather like the late Mac Tonnies appeared. But subsequent efforts to use ChatGPT to reproduce the idealized Tonnies head failed (but how many paranormal phenomena are reproducible?). Whitley and Greg consider the possibility that Mac has orchestrated this appearance to renew interest in his book The Cryptoterrestrials: A Meditation on Indigenous Humanoids and the Aliens Among Us, published by Anomalist Books soon after Mac’s tragic 2009 passing. Greg’s remarks in the book’s Afterword seem to have presciently predicted that Mac’s book was ten-to-fifteen years ahead of its time, and Whitley and Greg demonstrate by quoting, explaining, and speculating cogently from their own philosophies—and particularly Whitley’s personal experiences—how The Cryptoterrestrials is definitely so timely. Mac’s suggestion of a parallel but different intelligence somehow sharing this planet with humans, and its possible expression as at least part of the UFO phenomenon, certainly has gained increased attention as “nuts and bolts”-based theories are challenged by consciousness-based thinking as well as by the traditional astronomical distances involved in ETH and the purely deviant psychological, hoax, and “misidentified natural” UFO explanations. Ruth further relates a story about a Human-Neanderthal Hybrid Child From 140,000 Years Ago Found in Israel’s Skhul Cave. This discovery has Professor Israel Hershkovitz waxing enthusiastic about Neanderthals and humans “mixing” several times. However, Benjamin Taub writes Neanderthals Had Their Own Language – But Was It Like Ours? A new study, not yet peer-reviewed, suggests Neanderthals may have ultimately died out/been absorbed because they couldn’t achieve fluency in human spoken discourse. (WM)”
