Metcalfe, David

“I’m a Digital Strategy and Communications Leader with 20+ years of experience designing culturally fluent strategies that connect ideas, institutions, and audiences. My career bridges research, editorial direction, and multi-platform communications, with a focus on translating complex ideas into compelling digital storytelling. At the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business, I lead social media strategy and content development across the college’s central channels, scaling audiences to 300K+ monthly LinkedIn impressions and achieving 100%+ follower growth in year one. I also unify messaging across departmental and program accounts, manage editorial calendars, and train staff to ensure consistency and impact. In 2011, I founded the Liminal Analytics: Applied Research Collaborative, exploring how applied scholarship, market intelligence, multimedia, and social networks intersect. My independent scholarship continues through editorial projects and cultural research, with published work in Oxford University Press volumes and journals such as The Revealer and Global Catholic Review.”

  • June – David Metcalfe on UFO/UAP as “accidents of total surveillance” or “artifacts generated when the expansion of perceptual capacity outpaces interpretive frameworks, and when technical systems persist independently of human epistemic closure. This reconceptualization shifts the analytical focus from the ontological status of UAP to the structural conditions that produce them.”
